Sandwich10 steps to a healthy heart:

  1. Reduce excess body fat
  2. Cut back on saturated fats, like those found in butter
  3. Make sure the fats you do eat are unsaturated
  4. Add plant sterol enriched foods to your diet, such as Logicol® spread and yoghurt
  5. Cut back on cholesterol from food e.g. offal and butter
  6. Boost your omega 3s: eat fish and nuts
  7. Sweep cholesterol away with soluble fibre e.g. rolled oats
  8. Eat more folate: lots of fruit and vegetables
  9. Up the antioxidants: fruits especially citrus and berries, vegetables, red wine and tea
  10. Add heart protectors: wholegrain foods, soy, nuts
